in simple words,proxy server is a computer or an application program that act as a bridge for request from clients(users) asking resource from other servers.a client connects to the proxy server requesting some service such as a file or a web page available in the other servers
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE B/W HTTP AND SOCKET
both of them representing mobile internet.simply socket connection means,a connection without proxy and port.but http(wap) connection have proxy and port.if u uses a socket connection(like airtel mo) the connection pings the data and make the connection stabe.in the case of operamini,we get more speed if we uses socket connection.
